With new mobile suits developing by ZAFT and the abduction of three new models by 3 Earth Alliance Pilots, the new story begins.

Characters:
Shinn Asuka (Seiyuu: Suzumura Kenichi)
Genetic Type: Coordinator
Birthday: September 1, CE 57
Birthplace: ORB
Age: 16 (GSD), 18 (GSMovie)
Blood-type: O
Height: 168cm, 173cm
Weight: 55kg
Memorable Belongings: His deceased younger sister Mayu's cell phone
Mobile Suit: ZGMF-X56S Impulse Gundam, ZGMF-X42S Destiny Gundam

Shinn lives with his parents and his younger sister in the neutral country of Orb, but the Earth Alliance attacks Orb on June 15. Only Shinn survives when his family is caught in a crossfire between the GAT-X131 Calamity and the ZGMF-X10A Freedom mobile suits, though it is not clear whether the Calamity or the Freedom was responsible for the explosion that kills Shinn's family. Shinn blames Orb’s rulers, the Athhas, for his family’s deaths, believing that they should have surrendered to the attacking Earth Alliance Forces rather than endangering civilians in a battle that could not be won. Since then, he had a lust for revenge and hated ORB and their "sugarcoated" ideals of achieving peace without any weapons, etc. Orb soldier Captain Todaka then takes care of Shinn and later sends him to the PLANTs, where he joins ZAFT and graduates as one of the top students in his class as a "ZAFT Red". After graduation, Shinn is assigned to pilot ZAFT's ZGMF-X56S Impulse, and is stationed aboard the battleship Minerva under the command of Talia Gladys along with former military academy classmates Rey Za Burrel, Vino Dupre, Lunamaria Hawke, Meyrin Hawke, and Yolant Kent. Even though the bitter end of his family happened in the past, he has never forgotten it and constantly has reoccuring flashbacks of that time including the good memories he has of his sister.

Lunamaria Hawke (Seiyuu: Sakamoto Maaya)
Age: 17
Birthday: July 26 CE 56
Blood type: A
Genetic type: Coordinator
Height: 164 cm
Weight: 45 kg
Mobile Suit:
ZGMF-1000 ZAKU Warrior
ZGMF-X56S Impulse Gundam

Lunamaria Hawke is a mobile suit pilot on the Minerva, along with Shinn Asuka and Rey Za Burrel. Lunamaria typically pilots a red ZGMF-1000 ZAKU Warrior. Lunamaria appears to wear a customised version of the ZAFT red ace uniform, replacing the standard female-issue skirt with a miniskirt. She attended ZAFT military academy together with her sister Meyrin Hawke, Shinn Asuka, Rey Za Burrel, Vino Dupre, and Yolant Kent. Later all are stationed on board the Minerva. During the Armory One Incident, Lunamaria, along with Shinn and Rey, is drawn into the conflict, but the stolen units escape and are picked up by the mirage colloid–cloaked Earth Alliance battleship Girty Lue, waiting outside the colony. The Minerva pursues the Girty Lue, engaging in several battles. During the pursuit, Lunamaria meets former ZAFT member Athrun Zala, who is using the alias "Alex Dino" and acting as Cagalli Yula Athha’s bodyguard. Lunamaria's interest in Athrun grows when he re-enlists in ZAFT as a member of FAITH and joins the crew of the Minerva. Her attempts to get closer to Athrun are sometimes thwarted by Lacus Clyne impersonator, Meer Campbell. Ironically, Lunamaria appears not to notice her own sister Meyrin's interest in Athrun, even when the two discuss him. Later, Talia Gladys, captain of the Minerva, orders her to spy on Athrun when he meets with his former comrades Kira Yamato and Cagalli from the Archangel. During this meeting, Lunamaria discovers that the Lacus she knows is an impostor. She gives the data and photographs she collected to Talia, but omits mentioning that the Lacus Clyne working for PLANT is not the true Lacus. There are times when she appears to want to discuss the matter with Shinn, but she would not when Rey is around. The Minerva participates in several incidents during the Second Bloody Valentine War. During the Battle of Crete, Lunamaria’s ZAKU Warrior is heavily damaged and she is badly wounded. Upon the Minerva's arrival at Gibraltar, Lunamaria has recovered and replaces Shinn as pilot of the ZGMF-X56S Impulse, since he is now piloting the ZGMF-X42S Destiny. Lunamaria is shocked when she is informed that Athrun and her sister Meyrin have defected together and that Shinn has destroyed the GOUF Ignited in which the pair had attempted to escape. In grief and denial, Lunamaria places the blame on Logos rather than Shinn, who is clearly upset over killing her sister. Lunamaria and Shinn begin relying on each other for emotional support and develop a romantic relationship.

Meyrin Hawke (Seiyuu: Orikasa Fumiko)
Age: 16
Birthday: CE 57
Blood type: A
Genetic type: Coordinator
Height: 160 cm
Weight: 48 kg

Meyrin Hawke is Lunamaria Hawke's younger sister and a member of the Minerva bridge crew, where she serves as a communications controller for its complement of mobile suits. Meyrin is attracted to Athrun Zala. In one episode, Meyrin tries to put on her sister Lunamaria's skirt and is displeased when it is too small for her and during this scene Meyrin says how highly she thinks of Athrun Zala. In episode 36, at the Gibraltar military base, Athrun is framed as a traitor. To avoid pursuit he ducks into Meyrin's room, then plans to leave rather than implicate her. However, Meyrin helps Athrun escape by lying to the men chasing him so they would think she was alone in her room, hacking base security to set off a false alarm, and driving Athrun to a hangar where he can steal a mobile suit. Although Meyrin does not originally intend to escape with Athrun, she chooses to join him when they are discovered by Rey Za Burrel. The two attempt to escape in a ZGMF-2000 GOUF Ignited, but are pursued by Rey and Shinn Asuka in their new mobile suits, the ZGMF-X666S Legend and ZGMF-X42S Destiny, respectively. The GOUF Ignited is destroyed by Shinn and crashes into sea. Gilbert Dullindal frames Meyrin and Athrun, who are thought to be dead, as being agents of Logos. Meyrin and Athrun both survive. They are rescued by Ledonir Kisaka, who brings them to the Archangel. Though Athrun suffers more physical injuries, Meyrin has to deal with an infection and high fever caused by her injuries. Once she recovers from her injuries, Meyrin takes care of Athrun until he recovers and the two become closer. Later, Cagalli Yula Athha, who has stopped wearing Athrun's engagement ring, asks Meyrin to take care of Athrun just before the Archangel launches into space. Crying, Cagalli stays behind to lead Orb.

Rey Za Burrel (Seiyuu: Toshihiko Seki)
Age: 17 (K.I.A)
Birthday: CE 56
Blood type: O
Genetic type: Coordinator (Clone)
Height: 168 cm
Mobile Suit:
ZGMF-1001 Blaze ZAKU Phantom
ZGMF-X666S Legend Gundam
At the Battle of Crete, his ZAKU Phantom is severely damaged while defending the Minerva from Orb mobile suits. Later, when Stellar Loussier was held hostage on the Minerva, Rey helped Shinn return her to the Earth Alliance. Both were confined as punishment and could have been executed but were released on Gilbert Durandal's orders. At the Armory One base the Chairman of the Plants Gilbert Durandal was meeting the Orb Union's representative Cagalli Yula Athha, who was visiting the facility to discuss about ZAFT increasing its military power. Meanwhile, Phantom Pain forces infiltrated the base and stole ZAFT's newest mobile suits, the ZGMF-X24S Chaos Gundam, ZGMF-X88S Gaia Gundam, and ZGMF-X31S Abyss Gundam, as they heavily damaged the base during the infiltration. Rey tried to stop the three stolen mobile suits from escaping with his white ZGMF-1001 ZAKU Phantom along with Shinn Asuka and his ZGMF-X56S Impulse Gundam. They then faced Neo Leonorke, the captain of the Earth Alliance Forces battleship Girty Lue, in his TS-MA4F Exus. During the battle, Rey showed a strange connection to Neo. Later, Rey and Shinn devised a strategy to defeat the ZGMF-X10A Freedom Gundam during Operation Angel Down, in which they successfully accomplished; but the pilot Kira Yamato survived. Afterward, Rey helped Gilbert Durandal frame Athrun Zala as a traitor, and detected Athrun's attempt to escape with Meyrin Hawke in a ZGMF-2000 GOUF Ignited. Rey accompanied Shinn in destroying the mobile suit, as his words urged Shinn to destroy it, leading to the apparent deaths of Athrun and Meyrin.

Dearka Elthman (Seiyuu: Sasanuma Akira)
Age: 19
Birthday: March 29 CE 54
Blood type: O

Height: 180 cm
Weight : 58 kgMobile suit: GAT-X103 Buster Gundam
ZGMF-1000/A1 Gunner ZAKU Warrior
ZGMF-1001/M Blaze ZAKU Phantom

Same old same old, upon the reunion with Athrun; Yzak calling him a bastard, telling him not to order him around since he was the commander now, something all too familiar with Dearka because nothing's really changed at all. Fighting in his Gunner ZAKU Warrior, they manage to stop the attack of the extremists and Phantom Pain, but not quickly enough to finish the demolition of the Junius Seven ruins. They fall to Earth, causing mass destruction of the planet, and as the Minerva descends to Earth along with it, Gilbert Dullindal boards the Voltaire to be escorted back to PLANT. The Earth Alliance launches a counterattack on PLANT after these events, and the Jule-team joins in the mass defense against them. As they hold one team off, the Alliance sneaks a second team in from a different direction, armed with nuclear missiles. Shocked, Dearka and Yzak rush in to try and stop them, but are unable to make it. Luckily, ZAFT was armed with a new weapon, the Neutron Stampeder, which took all of the ships out. Pretty soon, Athrun was facing indecisiveness at Gilbert's offer to allow him back into ZAFT, pretty new mobile suit and all. He gets a visit from Dearka and Yzak, and he explains that if he wants to go out, his stay was still considered a visit by someone from a foreign country, and with recent events it was a precaution of sorts, so they were sent for that reason, also because somebody knew about the relationship between the three. They go to visit the graves of Nicol, Miguel and Rusty, and talk about the events that have just taken place in the world. Dearka and Yzak explain that it can't be helped that ZAFT had then declared their right to aggressive self-defense, because the Alliance still intended to destroy PLANT with nuclear weapons. When Athrun is asked to return to ZAFT again, it's explained that both Dearka and Yzak faced a number of problems after the first war, but Gilbert stood by them and said that youths such as themselves shouldn't be punished for the actions started by their leaders, and that because of what they've been through, that they should be the ones entrusted with the future. That's why he's still in ZAFT, because he knows he could make something of it for the sake of PLANT and his friends, just like Yzak does. Around the time that Lacus Clyne finally reveals herself to the world against Meer who had been impersonating her up until then, ZAFT forces are sent out to battle against the Alliance, who had deployed strange, cylinder shaped things toward PLANT. Dearka launches with the Jule-team determined to destroy these things that the Alliance are trying to protect. They turn out to be part of the Requiem, a giant laser on the moon that then fires and destroys six PLANTs; four direct hits, two more from the impact of the four. Dearka and Yzak barely make it out of the way of the Requiem's beam, and then watch in helpless horror as over a million and a half people are killed in front of their eyes. Dearka and the Jule team passionately follow Yzak order to take out the Gounods before the Requiem can fire again at all costs. When ZAFT sends a counter-attack from that, Dearka and the Jule-team fight as hard as they can. In the final battle, Dearka playfully asks Yzak what they were doing, and if they planned on launching and getting themselves killed. Yzak calls him stupid and tells him that he shouldn't have launched if he's going to think like that, and then follows him out to the battlefield. They run into Athrun again, and Dearka tries to calm Yzak down, who is angry that he came back like this again and explains that they were all out there and aiming to do the same thing; destroy the relay station, so it doesn't matter what he's doing out there, and they should go and just do it together. And they do. Dearka follows Yzak to cover to Eternal, under the fact that it was a ZAFT ship, and warn them away from the Messiah before it fires. As they protect the ship, we get a small revisit of SEED's Phase-50, Dearka-gets-attacked and Yzak screams-his-name, but luckily Dearka is safe. When the battle comes to an end, and once everything settles down, Dearka stays aboard the Voltaire and watches the ship while Yzak escorts her back to PLANT. At the end when she is escorted into the council room, one of the soldiers in line were Dearka in his black suit.

Gilbert Dulindall (Seiyuu: Shuuichi Ikeda)
Age: 32 (K.I.A)
Birthday: November 19 CE 41
Blood type: AB
Genetic type: Coordinator
Height: 183 cm
Weight: 69 kg

Gilbert Dullindal is the chairman of the PLANT Supreme Council. Durandal seems to have the agenda of ending all conflicts between humans, especially the chasm between the Naturals and the Coordinators, i.e. the Earth and PLANT. Above all, Durandal seeks peace and doesn't follow the genocidal intentions of Patrick Zala and his followers. His words are meant to inspire people to follow his ideals of a perfect world without war. Durandal is seen as a cunning strategist who always thinks ahead of his adversaries. However, Durandal is also willing to eliminate those who are not committed to his cause or have not been swayed to his side, such as Athrun Zala. Durandal's personal goal for a world without war comes in the form of his mysterious Destiny Plan.

Talia Gladys (Seiyuu: Koyama Mami)
Age: 29 (K.I.A)
Birthday: April 8 CE 41
Blood type: AB
Genetic type: Coordinator
Height: 170 cm

Talia Gladys is captain of the newly commissioned Minerva. She has shown good instinctive battle tactics and often orders the support ZAKU units to stay close to the ship, limiting the amount of damage done to the ship. However her strategic prowess is somewhat lacking, sometimes relying on others to organize battle plans. Captain Gladys does not use the resources of the Minerva recklessly or without provocation. She has been seen to use the Minerva's "Tannhäuser" positron beam cannon normally as a last resort. Her strengths eventually earn her an appointment into FAITH. While a good tactician, she sometimes has a hard time asserting her authority with some of her mobile suit pilots. This is made worse when two of them are also appointed into FAITH. Even though her crew is loyal to her, Gladys' own loyalties sometimes seem to waver. She clearly disagrees with many decisions handed down to her by the top brass in ZAFT and the PLANT Supreme Council, but despite personal misgivings, she always follows her orders. Her inability to do what sometimes she believes is right makes her vulnerable to manipulation.

Kira Yamato (Seiyuu: Souichirou Hoshi)
Rank: Admiral [GSD], White Coat (ZAFT) [GSDSE/FP]
Age: 18 [GSD], 20 [GSMovie]
Birthday: May 18 CE 55
Blood type: A
Genetic type: Ultimate Coordinator
Height: 170 cm [GSD] 175 cm [GSmovie]
Mobile suit: GAT-X105 Strike Gundam
ZGMF-X10A Freedom Gundam
ZGMF-X20A Strike Freedom Gundam

Two years have passed since the war of Jachin Due, once a member of the Earth Alliance, now officially goes on a path of non-violence with his companion, Lacus Clyne. They both lived in a seaside cabin at first with a daycare as well as Kira's "mother and father", but was later forced to move out so they re-located to a mansion. However, due to an unfortunate situation (Phase 13), he later realized that something had to be done, and later, together with Lacus, Murrue, Andrew, and other members of the Clyne Faction, they relaunched in the Archangel and since then, have been on a path towards stopping conflicts. He plays a key role in ending conflicts in his Freedom Gundam by intervening in conflicts between the Earth Alliance and ZAFT, whom Athrun Zala views it as a disruption. As a firm promoter of peace, he protects all people who he loves and cares about, especially Lacus Clyne. He is fairly quiet when he was living with Lacus in their seaside cabin and mansion, but once the Archangel re-launced and the Clyne Faction was back up and running, he started to talk more and gives decisive orders. He has a hatred inside for Mia Campbell due to the fact that she is an imposter of Lacus Clyne. His actions are often for the better and he strives to end all conflicts in support for peace. An extremely large jump in combat experience is shown in Kira Yamato as he pilots his ZGMF-X10A Freedom Gundam. As a supporter of peace, he makes sure never to cut through the cockpit of a mobile suit and only disables his enemies by decimating their weapons systems, and sometimes an arm, leg, or a booster pack. His speed is extremely fast as well enabling him to easily dodge attacks from multitudes of enemies and wiping out large squadrons of mobile suits. In addition, he is capable of easily intercepting missiles thanks to his HiMAT system that is able to lock on to all of them. His power is beyond compare and can defeat even the newest of all mobile suits. Where others struggle, he has no stress in handling and is capable of disabling three Gundams (Chaos, Gaia, Abyss) within seconds while emerging victorious without a single scratch.

Athrun Zala (Seiyuu: Ishida Akira)
Age: 18 (GSD), 20 (GSMovie)

The famous Athrun Zala took up residence in Orb after the end of the previous war, taking on the alias Alex Dino and assisting Cagalli as her aide and bodyguard. When he accompanies Cagalli to Armory One for a meeting with Chairman Durandal, Athrun is drawn into the new conflict, and with the fall of Junius Seven and the outbreak of full-scale war he decides to cast aside his false identity and return to the battlefield. On the field of battle, Athrun Zala excels piloting just about anything. When he pilots a standard mobile suit ZAKU warrior (Phase 1), he is able to pilot it with immense skill and bravery. Noted for his skills, Durandal provides Athrun with Saviour, one of the new Gundams. He is extremely agile and fast and makes use of power, speed, and skill all at the same time. However, despite his improved skills, he cannot easily defeat enemy Gundam pilots such as the experimental Earth Alliance pilots. With that being said, although his skills in combat have a definite increase, they are not as skilled as that of Kira Yamato. After his Saviour is destroyed in battle with Freedom, Athrun gets the Infinite Justice and fights alongside Kira's Strike Freedom.

Cagalli Yula Athha (Seiyuu: Shindou Naomi)
Age: 18 (GSD), 20 (GSMovie)

Mobile Suit: MBF-02 Strike Rouge, ORB-01 Akatsuki

The young Chief Representative of the Orb Union. Cagalli witnesses the outbreak of the new conflict when she travels to Armory One for a meeting with Chairman Durandal, and upon her return to Orb the other members of the Orb government pressure her to forsake the ideals of their nation and join forces with the Earth Alliance.

Lacus Clyne (Seiyuu : Tanaka Rie)
Age: 18 [GSD], 20 [GSMovie]
Birthday: February 5 CE 55
Blood type: B
Genetic type: Coordinator
Height: 160 cm [GSD] 162cm [GSmovie]

Lacus Clyne is a pop idol among the PLANTs, this is due to both her father, Siegel Clyne, Supreme Council chairmen of PLANT, and the fact her beautiful singing voice is so grand (many suspect that this is partly due to the fact she is a Coordinator). Near the beginning of the series she was engaged to Athrun Zala through an arranged marriage. Though (reporting to the drama CD) the two were in love when they first met, their feelings diminished as time went on and the engagement became more political then ever before. The pink-haired princess enters the series when she is traveling in a civilian vessel for a memorial ceremony on Junius Seven. The ship is mistaken for a ZAFT military aircraft, and is attacked by the Earth Alliance. Lacus is escorted to a lifepod, and escapes safely. Shortly thereafter, Lacus' escape pod is discovered by Kira in the Strike. He brings the pod back to the Archangel. The doors to the life pod open and out hops a small, pink, robotic ball. Following after it is Lacus Clyne herself in a bit of dismay that she was saved by Earth forces. Despite being enemies, the girl is cheery and kind to everyone on the ship as they keep her hostage. ZAFT forces discover the Archangel, and a battle breaks out. Before the Earth Alliance can suffer more loss, Natarle Badgiruel opens a channel to the enemy. It is then revealed to ZAFT that Lacus Clyne, the famous idol, is onboard the Archangel. Kira is distraught and, due to Flay's abusive words, comes direly close to an emotional breakdown; however, Lacus attempts to comfort him. The couple find that they both know Athrun Zala on a personal level, and even that Athrun made Lacus' Haro/Pink-chan (her pink, robotic ball) and Kira's Torii (his flying bird robot). Kira decides to return Lacus to where she belongs with Athrun. Even before meeting Kira, Lacus had an indirect influence on the war. She spread her opinion throughout PLANT by singing a song of peace, her lyrics filled with the hope of harmony between the nations. After encountering the Archangel, she expresses a larger need to achieve peace by aiding Kira many more times, causing Athrun to question his purpose for taking part in the war, and much more. In time, she ends up falling in love with

Kira, and Athrun & her engagement is ended without quarrel.

Miriallia Haw (Seiyuu: Toyoguchi Megumi)
Age: 18
Birthday: February 17 CE 55
Blood type: AB
Genetic type: Natural

Two years after the war, Miriallia is shown working as a freelance photographer, covering events such as the damage caused by Junius 7 and Meer Campbell's promotional appearance on Earth. However, subsequent cameos reveal that her new career doubles as a front for her actions as an agent of Terminal, the information group allied with many former members of the Three Ships Alliance. By chance, she meets Athrun again and learns of his rejoining ZAFT. Athrun asks about her relationship with Dearkka Elthman. She does not reply, but later tells others she had dumped Dearka. Miriallia arranges a meeting between Athrun and their mutual friends Cagalli Yula Athha and Kira. At this meeting, Athrun tells the others that Cagalli needs to return to Orb, while they inform him that special forces from ZAFT had attempted to assassinate Lacus. Before the Archangel's intervention in the Battle of Crete, Miriallia returns to the Archangel (much to the delight of the crew), taking up her former position as a communications officer. She continues to photographically log key events of the war for the sake of history. When Athrun confronts Shinn Asuka towards the end of this conflict, he reiterates the context of what Miriallia had said during the previous war about the senselessness of revenge for the loss of loved ones: it won't bring them back.

Andrew Waltfeld (Seiyuu: Okiayu Ryotaro)
Age: 32
Birthday: July 20 CE 41
Blood type: B
Genetic type: Coordinator
Height: 181 cm
Alias: Desert Tiger
Mobile suit: TMF/A-802 BuCUE, TMF/A-803 LaGOWE, MVF-M11C Murasame Waltfeld Custom, ZGMF-X88S Gaia Waltfeld Custom

Like Murrue Ramius, ZAFT's famous Desert Tiger relocated to Orb after the previous war. Even while living in relative seclusion, Waltfeld has maintained his own intelligence network to monitor the deteriorating world situation, and he remains a capable soldier despite the injuries he has suffered in his past battles.

Murrue Ramius (Seiyuu: Mitsuishi Kotono)
Rank: Captain of Archangel
Age: 28 (GSD)
Birthday: October 14 CE 45
Blood type: O
Genetic type: Natural
Height: 170 cm

After the war, Murrue Ramius lived in Orb, and worked as the head of Morgenroete's Shipbuilding Section B, adopting the alias Maria Vernes. She met with Talia Gladys, as she was being responsible for the repairs of the Minerva, when it arrived from Orb after the events of Break the World. "Maria" is frequently seen in the company of Andrew Waltfeld, whose lover Aisha was also killed in the war. After the departure of Minerva, Murrue was involved in the attempted assasination at the temporary residence of Lacus Clyne, along with Andrew Waltfeld. After Orb's membership into the Earth Alliance, Murrue reunited the original crew, and relaunched the Archangel, which now has got submarine capabilities. Before departure, they kidnapped Cagalli from her political wedding with Yuna. During the Battle of Berlin, Murrue discovered to her shock that Mwu was in fact alive. Though he seemed identical to their records, with the exception of a few scars, he doesn't seem to remember his past life, only with his current identity as Neo Roanoke. When Neo had his first look at her, he made a flirtatious move towards her. Eventually, after the exposure of LOGOS, ZAFT decided to eliminate the Archangel permanently. However, Captain Gladys attempted to convince the Archangel to surrender; Murrue, revealing her true identity to her counterpart, politely refused. A furious battle then followed suit. In the end, Murrue and her crew managed to escape destruction by ejecting and detonating one of the Archangel's spare engines as they submerged, in order to convince the Minerva that they have been sunk. They managed to escape to Orb to make repairs. On the Second Battle of Orb, Murrue allows Neo uses of the Skygrasper, accepting that he's no longer the man she once loved. The Archangel then went on to defend the Orb from the ZAFT fleet, which was after Lord Djibril, revealing themselves to the Minerva. They engaged in a dogfight, in which Neo involved himself, stating that he's the man who "can make the impossible possible," which Murrue recognized as Mwu's line. Soon enough, Murrue ordered the Archangel to submerge, enabling them to attack the ZAFT fleet and diminish their fighting strength. When Djibril fled into space, ZAFT withdrew from Orb territory. At the final showdown in the Battle of Messiah, Murrue and Talia once again faced off against each other in a fierce battle. During that time, Mwu's memories of Murrue has fully returned at last, when he saved her and theArchangel from the Minerva's "Tannhäuser" positron blaster cannon by using his mobile suit as a shield, much like he did in the previous war. This time, Mwu survived without a scratch, thanks to his ORB-01 Akatsuki's reflective beam coating, which allowed the Akatsuki to disperse most of the positron blast, while the remainder is blocked by the Akatsuki's beam barrier, followed by disabling the "Tannhäuser" with its"Shiranui" Space Pack . Mwu then promised to never leave Murrue again and states they should hurry up and finish the battle so they can go home, to which Murrue happily concurs. As the battle rages on, each ship that they commanded critically disabled each other. Athrun Zala then destroyed Minerva's engines, forcing it to crash-land on the lunar surface. As theArchangel passes by, Murrue pays her respects to Talia with a salute in an acknowledgment.

Mwu La Fllaga/Neo Leonorke (Seiyuu: Koyasu Takehito)
Age: 31
Birthday: November 29 CE 42
Blood type: O
Genetic type: Natural (Newtype)
Height: 183 cm
Weight: 71 kg
Mobile suit: TS-MA2mod.00 Moebius Zero, FX-550 Skygrasper, F-7D Spearhead, GAT-X105 Strike, TS-MA4F Exus , GAT-04 Windam, ORB-01 Akatsuki

Neo Leonorke is introduced in Gundam SEED Destiny as a captain in the Earth Alliance Forces 81st Autonomous Mobile Group, commonly known as the Phantom Pain. In this capacity he takes orders from Lord Djibril and is in direct command of the three Extended pilots Sting Oakley, Stellar Loussier, and Auel Neider. Neo and his stealth warship, the Girty Lue, engage in repeated battles with the ZAFT battleship Minerva over the course of the series, including interfering in ZAFT's efforts to prevent the Seven colony drop.
Because of the mask he wears, Neo's face is not revealed until late in the series. Initially he pilots a TS-MA4F Exus mobile armor which is very similar in design to Mwu's Moebius Zero, albeit more refined. In skirmishes with ZAFT during the Armory One incident, Neo demonstrates an extrasensory awareness of Rey Za Burrel similar to Mwu's awareness of Rau Le Creuset; in battles in later episodes, Kira Yamato also displays a degree of similar awareness of Neo. Kira's recognition of Neo prompts him to disable Neo's GAT-04 Windam during the Battle of Berlin; Neo is unmasked in the process, and Murrue Ramius, observing his striking resemblance to Mwu, brings him on board the Archangel. Although a ruthless and cunning leader, Neo commands a great deal of trust from his subordinates; he demonstrates some sympathy for the Extended pilots, who are viewed as equipment by most of the Earth Alliance Forces. However, he also manipulates them over the course of the series, and repeatedly breaks promises made to or involving them at orders from Djibril. He allows Stellar's memories of being rescued by Shinn Asuka to be erased, after promising her he would not; later in the series he assigns Stellar as the pilot of the GFAS-X1 Destroy after promising Shinn that he would not send her into battle again, and plays on her fears to encourage her to fight, an action which leads to Stellar's death at the Battle of Berlin. The crew of the Archangel determine that Neo's physical data is a 100% match to their records of Mwu. Neo initially denies being Mwu or knowing anything about him; however, over the course of the next ten episodes there are several instances in which he demonstrates a degree of unconscious familiarity with the ship, as well as having a knee-jerk emotional reaction to Murrue's presence, resulting in growing confusion about his identity. Ultimately, after Murrue releases him from the Archangel and provides him with a FX-550 Skygrasper for transportation, Neo chooses to return to support the Archangel against the Minerva during the Second Battle of Orb, in the course of which he repeats Mwu's assertion that he can "make the impossible possible" and has a brief flashback of the emergency landing Mwu made on the Archangel during the Battle of JOSH-A. Following the battle, Neo confides in Murrue his doubts about his identity, confessing that he returned because something in him knows her, and asking to remain on board the Archangel. Murrue acquiesces, and Neo is thereafter commissioned as a captain in Orb's military.

Age: 16 (K.I.A)
Birthday: January 6 CE 57
Blood type: A
Genetic type: Natural (Extended)
Height: 163 cm

Weight: 43 kg
Mobile Suit: ZGMF-X88S Gaia, GFAS-X1 Destroy

She is one of the Earth Forces Extendeds (enhanced through drugs and surgery) and has two personalities: an innocent and angry side. Her memories have been erased in order to fight battles without any emotion. Because of her modifications without being genetically altered, she quickly changes from being calm and happy, to fuming and violent. Her worst fear is dying and has an emotional breakdown whenever someone mentions death near her.

Sting Oakley (Seiyuu: Suwabe Junichi)

Age: 16 (K.I.A)
Birthday: CE 57
Blood type: A
Genetic type: Natural (Extended)
Height: 172 cm
Mobile Suit: ZGMF-X24S Chaos Gundam, GFAS-X1 Destroy

Sting, along with Auel Neider and Stellar Loussier, are the three Extended pilots of the Earth Alliance’s special forces team, called Phantom Pain. Together with his comrades he sneaks into the PLANT colony Armory One, where he steals one of the three new Gundam-type mobile suits, the ZGMF-X24S Chaos. He is involved in two other battles in space (the first in the debris belt, the second on the remnants of the destroyed PLANT colony Junius 7) and after the start of the Second Bloody Valentine War, Sting and the rest of Phantom Pain go to Earth. On Earth, he and his comrades engage in several battles with against the ZAFT ship Minerva, but meet with little success. Sting often fights against Athrun Zala in the ZGMF-X23S Saviour.

Auel Neider (Seiyuu: Morita Masakazu)

Age: 16 (K.I.A)
Birthday: CE 57
Blood type: O
Genetic type: Natural (Extended)
Height: 167 cm
Weight: 57 kg
Mobile Suit: ZGMF-X31S Abyss Gundam

Auel, along with Sting Oakley and Stellar Loussier, are the three Extended pilots of the Earth Alliance’s special forces team Phantom Pain. He is the most impulsive and brutal of the three, killing his enemies mercilessly and even laughing crazily when he kills people. Together with his comrades, he sneaks into the PLANT colony Armory One, where he steals one of the three new Gundam-type mobile suits, the ZGMF-X31S Abyss. He uses the heavily armed suit to wreak havoc inside the colony, killing many ZAFT soldiers. He is later involved in two other battles in space (the first in the debris belt, the second on the remnants of the destroyed PLANT colony Junius Seven). After the start of the Second Bloody Valentine War, Auel and the rest of Phantom Pain go to Earth. They are involved in several battles against the ZAFT ship Minerva, but are met with no great success. However, Auel does manage to sink one Vosgulov class submarine, which came to the aid of the Minerva. Auel and his two comrades later investigate the ZAFT-controlled city Diokia, where the three meet enemies Shinn Asuka and Athrun Zala for the first time; neither party realizes who the other is. When ZAFT discovers a laboratory in Lodonia, Auel recalls that his mother was stationed there and promptly begins to freak out. Because of his psychological conditioning, he is rendered helpless when he hears his blockword, in his case the word "mother". Auel, in his confusion, says it out loud to himself and collapses in tears. The doctors on the ship quickly move to readjust his mentality.
Shortly after Stella is captured and taken on board the Minerva, Auel and Sting had all of their memories of her erased. The latter recalled nothing, but Auel felt that something was missing, suggesting that his amnesia was not complete. During the Battle of Crete his suit is destroyed by Shinn Asuka when he uses the beam javelin of his ZGMF-X56S/γ Blast Impulse to stab directly into the abdomen of the Abyss, causing it to crash into the sea. The Abyss explodes under water, shortly after blood-mixed water filled Auel's helmet, confirming his death.
